Oil exploration companies, service contractors and industry consultants often use a wide variety of Geoscience applications, together with proprietary algorithms and techniques in conducting their day to day business. Many of these specialist software packages, proprietary algorithms and new innovative techniques do not integrate seamlessly with the existing major software systems.

ARK CLS has extensive experience in developing software under both the GeoQuest and Landmark environments, enabling many of the specialist software packages and proprietary algorithms to be integrated into their core exploration work flows.

Bespoke software development is the original core sector of ARK CLS’s (formerly CustomLink Systems Limited) business. As such, we have acquired a number of years experience developing custom software utilities for our clients. Whilst developing proprietary software solutions from well-documented requirements specifications is preferable, frequently time constraints and work pressures make it difficult for our clients to generate such a document. Under such circumstances, we can arrange to have an open discussion to flesh out requirements. Our software engineers are experienced geoscientists and are very capable of discussing client’s ideas in detail. Following such an initial meeting, we could, if appropriate, produce a technical discussion document, which would form a basis for further discussion. Before starting a bespoke software development project, we would prepare a formal proposal, which would set out our terms outlining the cost to do the work.
