Launch of SCI and SSB plug-ins for Petrel software

ARK CLS is pleased to announce the release of Seismic Coloured Inversion and Seismic Spectral Blueing as plug-ins for Petrel* seismic to simulation software.

The Seismic Coloured Inversion plug-in, developed using the Ocean* software development framework, will provide the Petrel user community with access to ARK CLS flagship coloured inversion technology.

Seismic Coloured Inversion (SCI) software is an easy to use, fast track method for the routine inversion of 3D seismic data. It shapes the average seismic spectrum to the well log impedance spectrum and enables the seismic interpreter to generate relative acoustic impedance in as short a time frame as possible. De-trending and normalization techniques also allow relative amplitude changes observed in the impedance volumes to be interpreted quantitatively.

The Seismic Spectral Blueing plug-in is also being made available to Petrel users.

Our Seismic Spectral Blueing (SSB) solution is the sister product to SCI and is a powerful tool to enhance high frequencies and optimize the shape of the spectrum of seismic data so that it is consistent with the Earth’s reflectivity. SSB enables geological features such as small scale faults and channel features to be more prominent as the freqency spectrum will be enhanced and broadened.
