To correctly view a PDF3D file it is important to ensure that double-sided rendering is enabled. This is achieved within Adobe Reader by selecting menu item "Edit->Preferences..." to pop-up the "Preferences" dialog. Within this dialog select the "3D & Multimedia" category and turn on "Enable double-sided rendering". Clicking [OK] will save your preference for future use. Right click here PDF3D example (3Mbyte) or on image above and select "Save Target As..." to download and save this PDF3D example to your file system. View with Adobe Reader.

PDF3D OpendTect plug-in has been developed in partnership with Visual Technology Services Ltd. and is an innovative interactive 3D technical publishing technology for PDF documents. This plug-in allows OpendTect users to select and export 3D scenes.
Benefits of PDF3D
This plug-in extends the capabilities of OpendTect by providing a dynamic reporting mechanism. No longer are you restricted to selecting static views of the data to put into reports. With this plug-in you can create a 3D PDF which allows your report readers to interact with the 3D project data. Click here then use your mouse, buttons and wheel to interact with the 3D scene.
